This is Us | Philadelphia Family Photographer

I’m so excited to have joined a new blog circle, focused on the daily lives of several dear friends and super talented local photographers (and moms!). This is my place to showcase the people and places that are most near and dear to me…my family in my own home and daily surroundings. It may not always be pretty (or even very clean!), but these are the precious memories I so want my boys to grow up having. Please remember to click through the blog circle to see the other posts, starting with Philadelphia Family Photographer, Jackie Kelley

The Class of 2028 | Philadelphia Child Photographer

You had your first day of Kindergarten today!  You were so excited and I couldn’t have been more proud of you!  These photos are from morning drop-off, but the end of the day was equally exciting as you told me all about the day’s activities and your new friends.  After an entire year of stressing over choosing the right school for you, I am so relieved to know that you are in a place that you love.  Here’s to a great school year, my Kindergartener!!

Class of 2028 | Philadelphia Child Photographer

Last night we went for a walk after dinner.   You rode your bike, an activity that we definitely haven’t practiced enough this summer.  You’re a very nervous rider, probably made even worse by the fact that your training wheels clearly weren’t tight enough for your evening ride.  As I walked behind you, I noticed the sidewalks were broken and crooked and really hard for you to ride on.  But we kept encouraging you to keep trying, because there’s no other way to learn than to just keep trying.  I thought about this next journey you’re about to begin…starting kindergarten.  And as cheesy as it sounds, I thought about all the crooked and broken roads you’ll have to travel along the way.  I won’t be able to make them straighter or easier for you to travel.  You’re just going to have to keep trying, and I will be right there behind you, offering encouragement and the occasionally push to get started again.  My big boy, I am so proud of you and I’m so excited to watch you learn and grow this coming year.  I really hope you enjoy the ride!

D. Family | Philadelphia Newborn Photographer

I really enjoyed this in-home Philadelphia newborn photo session. The D. Family was full of smiles and fun. Big brother was such a charmer, and their sweet new addition even got in on the action!

Philadelphia Lifestyle Newborn Photographer | Miss L

As soon as this little girl’s mama brought out that antique cradle, I just knew we were going to have an amazing lifestyle newborn session! Sweet baby L was just a total rockstar for our session, and I loved being able to incorporate her older furbaby sibling in some shots as well. 🙂

PHILADELPHIA FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER | LETTERS TO OUR CHILDREN JULY 2014

Dear Chance,
It’s been a big month, filled with milestones and summer activities. Your personality continues to reveal itself, through bouts of giggles and your determination to be on the move.

We took a trip to Titi Lucy’s beach house this month, an annual tradition since I was a little girl. 🙂 It was a luxurious 4 days of lounging, playing, cuddling, and laughing for the four of us! You loved feeling the ocean breeze on your face, and of course you tried to eat the sand. 😉 We loved the luxury of being able to set our own pace of playing in the sand all morning, laying around napping all afternoon, and then heading out for ice cream and more beachside fun in the evenings.

I was especially happy that we spent some time visiting with my Abuelo and Titi Lucy. Abuelo isn’t as mobile as he used to be, but he’s still got all the boyish spunk that I remember from my childhood. He loved making you laugh and watching you play and try to crawl.

You’ve been working hard on achieving some major milestones this past month. You got your first two teeth (ouch!) and are so anxious to start crawling and walking! The past two days, all you want to do is be held so you can stand. I know you will be walking before we know it! As exhausting as these milestones can be for us, we are also so very proud and thoroughly entertained by you as well! 2014-07-24_0010.jpg

I love you so very much, and I am so excited to see what the next month will bring for you!

Love and kisses,
Mommy
